BIOGRAPHY
The McAlpine manuscript provides us with the following description of
Jenette McAlpine, called Janet McAlpine. "She is a woman of considerable
intelligence but lacked educational advantages in early life; is
exceedingly conscientious, and her whole life has been one of devotion to
her family. She has been much affected during most of her life with salt
rheum." [SALT RHEUM: A popular name for various cutaneous eruptions,
particularly for those of eczema.]
